Great, quiet, easy to use washing machine

We bought this machine after our old Blomberg 1300 finally gave up the ghost after 20 odd years faithfull service. I looked at many machines and spent a whole day walking around the usual electric stores looking at what felt like every washing machine known to man. As a family with young children, we wanted a machine that was easy to use, economical and wasn't going to bust the bank. We finally settled on this LG model as it ticked all the boxes for us. It was a great price on Amazon at under 290 pounds so we ordered.The courier Amazon used, rang us to arrange a convenient delivery day and time, though it took a little longer than i would have liked, and seemed to sit in the couriers warehouse for a day or two after marked as despatched from Amazon - nothing to mark down the machine for.The machine itself has proved to be brilliant. Clear installation instructions - make sure you read them and remove the transit bolts and level the feetand use the supplie spanner to lock them out!The instruction manual initially looks a little complicated, but it is very straightforward. Onto using it. After installing and running a recommended cotton cycle with no load to 'flush' any nasties that may be in there, i ran two consecutive full loads(we'd been without a machine for a week, so laundry had built up. The first load with detergent in the hopper on the machine and the second using a plastic ball that goes in with the load. Both came out clean and the 1200 spin speed meant that everything was pretty dry - no problems at all.We've used this machine with full cotton loads and no problems.I've used it with delicates, including lycra cycling gear and running gear and it's all come out clean.Used it to was a small load including blood stains, and used the extra settings that are specifically for difficult stains - Great results.The machine will weigh the load it has and adjust the water levels and times accordingly.It's not often i can say that i've been excited over a washing machine, but in this case, I certainly am :)

Fantastic product. Very quiet (once you have remembered to remove the transit bolts). It quietly churns away with minimum fuss. Nice display and sounds. Washing doesn't feel like a chore or a bore. Love it.

LG F1256QD 1200rpm 7kg Direct Drive Washing Machine White I am a washing machine engeneer with 40 years experience. over the years like most engeneers i have noticed the quality of appliances getting poorer with every new model producedabout 6 years ago i started geting calls to L G washing machines and noticed that the calls where mostly minor problems like hair grips or coins stuck in the filter or pump (things that you could not blame the machine for ) even on 6 or 7 year old machines major faults are verry rare.i have often looked at machines in the dealers showrooms and realised that the basic designe has not changed since the 1960s and somone should come up with something better.well lg have done it with the direct drive motor ,no belt, no motor brushes,and wonderfull LG electronics you cant go wrong.Lg dont compete with the cheep rubish merchants, they sell good machines at a reasonable price. P S Ive got one
