I bought this to replace an old American top loader which I'd inherited from the previous owners of our B&B. I needed something large and robust, but also quiet. One of the guest bedrooms is above the laundry room and, with the old machine, I used not to be able to do the washing when guests were in, which hampered my schedule for the day somewhat. With the new Samsung, I can hardly hear it when standing 10 feet away, let alone upstairs. It really is as quiet as they say.With its fantastic 12Kg capacity, I can get through all the laundry in double quick time. It's got lots of different programs, covering every conceivable type of item to be washed. It also has a useful "quick wash" which only takes 15 minutes, good for towels which are usually not soiled, and only need a quick wash.The 1400 spin dryer is very powerful - I usually reduce the speed to 1200 or even 1000, as it really really wrings the washing when at top speed.If you have lots of washing to do, I would highly recommend you get this machine. If you like a little peace and quiet in the laundry department, this is for you too.

All singing All dancing but dosen't wash clothes !!

Unfortunately we are unable to share the rave reviews featured here as our experience is the complete opposite. The machine was delivered 2 days ago and we were so excited. Eager to get started we programmed the machine to do the first "test wash". A strange message about voltage popped up on the "all singing all dancing" electronic state of the art screen and nothing has happened since, our clothes remain piled high, unwashed. Having called the Samsung service Centre, we are no further forward. Apparently it will be at least 4 days before an engineer can come out to fix the machine. I tried to say to the caller who informed me of the date the engineer would attend how disillusioned and frustated we are. This is by far the most expensive washing machine we have ever purchased and the first one that has ever failed to work. How does that make sense ?
