Good hob - no problems

I bought this to replace my gas one (removed during kitchen refurb).This works really well and it lightning fast to heat the pan (must faster than gas or other ceramic hob). I think it might take a while to get used to variable heat controls though - I had to stir lots to stop burning action... don't see that as a fault - just something to get used too.So, all in all, happy to recommend this.

I have been using this cooktop for a few weeks now, and am overall quite pleased with the product in its capacity to heat quickly. The only option that works effectively though is the 'Heat' Mode. This mode goes from 1-10, with levels 1-4 being staggered phases of being on and then off for a period of time. Even with a staggered setting, I was able to maintain a very nice constant simmer in quality pots at level 2. Level 10 of course can boil water in a staggering time frame, as well as scorch anything left without liquid on the bottom of the pan. Noise wise, I would say that I am pleased with the amount of noise the fans and induction coils put out. At first the induction coils are very noisy, but after a week of frequent use it quieted down nicely. I have had a few other induction cook tops and say this is on the quiet end of the spectrum. Cons: The entire surface is not glass, as some other induction cook tops are. This means there is a small gap in between the two burners that collects anything and everything. That gap, as well as the entire control surface is plastic... A pot base grazed one of the buttons as I was pulling it off the cooktop, which melted the controls and blistered a few other places that almost made contact with the metal. The other problem I have with this cooker is the 'Temp' mode. This mode uses a timer that audibly clicks in between the ON phases, which is both highly annoying and highly inaccurate. The effect of this mode is that the coil is ON for a few seconds, and then for a minimum of ten seconds is off. This eliminates the ability to simmer in any fashion.

This is a portable induction hob. If I had not had the fortune to come across this really great hob I would have been forced to buy a new kitchen, so it has saved me thousands. I needed a hob for during the summer months when I turn off my Aga and one that I can pack away during the winter. It has graded heat levels which are timeable , highly effective and constant. It is not thermostatically controlled like some electrical cookers which keep switching off when you need the constant heat. It looks great and can be used on any normal electrical power point and even extend to the garden on extension lead. Just the job.
