Great product at a great price

Was a little put off by some of the reviews I had read regarding this dryer but decided to give it a go and as someone else said it was 1/2 the price of some other "heat pump" dryers on the market. A heat pump dryer is basically a small air conditioner unit built into a tumble dryer, it sucks heat out of the surrounding air and moves it into the drum, its like your car a/c. Found the unit to be very quiet compared to my old dryer and found some of the sounds to be strange for a tumble dryer (at times it does sound like a fridge and this is just the heat pump turning on). The drying does take a little longer but nowhere near as long as I thought it would be. Not had any problems with clothes coming out still damp. One thing I do love about this dryer is that anything that you need to iron is very easy to iron after it comes out of this type of dryer as the items are not cooked with a very high temperature hot air blast like a normal tumble dryer and it leaves most items very soft without using a dryer sheet. Don't be put off by the price as this seems a very well put together unit and it is a great price. And don't forget it may take longer to dry but it costs a lot less than your old dryer to run.

Excellent, but know what you're buying

There are clearly mixed messages in the reviews here.We wanted a low-power machine and were quite happy that it would have a longer cycle time as a result - this meets the need perfectly. It's much cheaper than other machines that use the same heat pump technology but is well enough made and easy to use from controls and programming through to defluffing and draining.It runs at ~700W in use, so it's within the power generated by our solar panels on a showery/hazy day. You can dry soggy washing in 3 hours for under 2 units of electricity (vs. 4+ for a 'normal' machine). We simply leave the washing to dry naturally overnight beforehand, though, meaning we can dry the clothes off in under 45 minutes for less than half a unit. The machine has a moisture sensor, so it will adjust the programme to get to the desired "target dampness" (iron dry, cupboard dry, extra dry) or you can over-ride this and put the clothing in for a fixed time (in 10 minute increments). Clothes come out dry but not desert-so, but the latter programme allows you to lightly bake them if you argue with the sensor and insist that cold clothes can't possibly be dry.On the other hand, if you're in the market for a machine that will cook your clothes from sodden to the point where you can't touch them in under 20 minutes, then this really isn't the machine for you.

This is the cheapest A+++ rated tumble dryer I could find that uses the latest heat pump technology. OK so Beko may not be in the same class as AEG, BOSCH, SIEMENS etc.. but this dryer was almost half the price of similar dryers using heat pump technology.The dryer is quieter than my last one which was a hotpoint condenser dryer. The Beko takes a little longer than the hotpoint did however the hotpoint almost cooked the clothes where as the beko seems to be more gentle. I have an energy useage display and when the hotpoint used to run it went wild.. the beko is much more efficient!Delivery from SEE via Amazon was fast and efficient, everywhere else the same dryer was £80 more (inc delivery.)
