Good piece of kit - pleased with purchase

All in all, this is absolutely fine and I'd buy it again.There are one or two minor annoyances:The auto dry doesn't work particularly well on large items like towels or duvets. It's better to set the dryer going for an hour or so on the manual setting. Not a big issue, but it's not very eco friendly!When the auto dry has finished, the dryer will continue to do an occasional cycle. Again, not a big issue, but a bit annoying if you want to put a load on as you go to bed.The condenser is easy to empty - it's just slightly fiddly with being under the machine and it's a good idea to have a bucket handy to empty it into.The dry also seems to produce a lot of heat when it's operational.

Generally good

This seems a good machine for the money and we are happy with the drying - though have only done a few cycles.The one thing which annoys me is that to empty the condenser vessel you have to lift out a rather tacky cover at the bottom and then pull it out at floor level. There is no option for permanent plumbing in. On a Bosch we had this was at the top and much easier to use. In practice the cover will be left off permanently I think, and I would not recommend this for people who find it difficult to stoop to ground level.

Safety Worry

I've owned this dryer for just over a year and was happy with it, until a couple of weeks ago it went bang! All I did was click the delicates button, there was a load bang, big flash of light and smoke coming from the button. My electric was blown, I couldn't get it back on, had to call an emergency guy out and was sat in the dark for 2 hours whilst my part cooked Sunday roast went to waste in the oven.It was just outside of the guarantee so I wasn't covered. Hoover sent an engineer anyway to do a report on it, but he got extremely unpleasant when I wouldn't pay for them to repair it. He told me the fault was 'one of those things'. However, after seeing the black damage on the electrics inside I don't feel happy about paying out to repair something that might be a general safety hazard.Also, I wasn't that impressed with the sensor drying programs, even on bone dry the washing would still feel a little damp.Anyone that does purchase this drier regardless of my review, make sure you take out an extended guaratee!!!
